Faculty and Staff Commencement Information

Help ensure a memorable commencement experience! Faculty and staff are invited to participate in the commencement ceremonies.

As official witnesses to the conferring of degrees faculty play a vital role in the success of the ceremony. Faculty may participate either as members of the academic procession or as marshals involved in directing graduates during the ceremony.

Faculty marshals are involved in every aspect of the commencement process, from the opening procession and seating of candidates to the concluding recessional. Their participation is critical to the ceremony’s success. If you are interested in becoming a marshal, please email commencement@mst.edu.

Staff are invited to participate as commencement ambassadors. Our ambassadors help guests to their seats, answer questions, guide graduates and maintain a positive atmosphere for families and friends of graduates. Volunteering is a great opportunity to celebrate with students, take one last photo and say farewell as they depart.
