Additional Authorized Access FAQ
What is Additional Authorized Access (AAA)?
Additional Authorized Access allows students the ability to grant access to an authorized user to view specific items in Joe’SS. Students can grant access to academic information, account information, financial aid information and directory information. Students have the ability to authorize a user to view all four sections or any combination.
How do I sign up?
Only students can grant this access to an authorized user. Student will need to log into Joe’SS and click on Self Service. From there you can access AAA two ways; 1) use the left menu and click on Additional Authorized Access or 2) navigate to the Student Center>Demographic data area and click on Additional Authorized User.
Who can sign up?
Students control all access to set-up and maintain the Additional Authorized User. An automatically generated email will be sent to both the student and the user notifying the access has been set up.
What if I want to change a user's access?
Students have the ability to change an Additional Authorized Users access at any time. They simply need to log into Joe’SS and navigate to the Additional Authorized Users page and change the access granted. An automatically generated email will be sent to both the student and the user notifying of the change.
What if I want to delete a user?
Students can delete a user at any time by logging in Joe’SS and navigating to the Additional Authorized Users page and delete the access granted. An automatically generated email will be sent to both the student and the user notifying of the change.
What type of financial information will be available to my Additional Authorized Access member?
Additional Authorized Access members will be able to view account inquiry information on Joe’SS. This includes current and past charges and credits applied to the student account.
Is the Account Inquiry tab on Joe’SS the same as my billing statement?
There is a difference between the account inquiry tab and the electronic billing statement. The information on the account inquiry tab is real time and the billing statement is static. The account inquiry will reflect current, real time activity where the billing statement shows activity for a specific period of time. The billing statement will also reflect anticipated aid which can be used to reduce the amount to pay, calculates an adjusted amount due to pay the current month’s bill in full or a minimum payment, communicates a payment due date and discloses when finance charges and late fees are assessed.
How will the AAA member access the electronic billing statement and make online payments?
For a student to grant access to electronic billing statements and online payments, they need to grant access to Student Account Information in Additional Authorized Access. More information is available on the Cashier's Office website, http://cashier.mst.edu/.
