Joe Miner’s Self-Service
Joe’SS. You’ve heard about it. You’ve probably even used it. But what is it?
Joe’SS (pronounced “Joe’s”) is short for Joe Miner’s Self-Service. It is a web portal that allows students access to their account information such as course history, online payment options, payment history, billing statements, financial aid information, registration schedule, transcripts and more. It replaced the previous Student Information System at the Missouri University of Science and Technology on January 5, 2004. The University of Missouri System upgraded from version 8.0 to version 8.9 on January 17, 2006. Version 9.0 upgrade is planned for late 2010.
Joe’SS is completely web-based and accessible from anywhere. Simply use your Single-Sign On (same as what you use to access your Missouri S&T e-mail) to login. Students will need to agree to e-Consent to access their financial information and to facilitate communication with the Cashiers and Financial Aid Offices.
New students will receive a SSO ID (Single Sign On) and one-time password from the Admissions Office. After logging in to Joe’SS with the SSO ID and one-time password, click on UM Processes and Reports, then click on Welcome BootStrap Password and follow the on-screen instructions to activate your account and set a new password. After activation, you will have access to your university e-mail and other university online resources. Note - all University-related information and announcements will be sent to Missouri S&T e-mail accounts. If you have any questions about activating your account as a new student, please e-mail applysso@mst.edu. [top]
Your Joe’SS access will never expire. If you forgot your login information, use the Forgot Your Password link on the Joe’SS sign-on page. If you have any questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office. [top]

When you first log-on to Joe’SS, you must provide consent to do business with Missouri S&T online. If you choose not to provide consent, you will have to do all business with Missouri S&T in person during regular business hours. Once you have decided whether or not to grant consent, you will be re-directed to the sign-on page and you must log-on again to access your information. [top]
