Guest Rules of Conduct

  •  Guests should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony and be seated 15 minutes before the ceremony begins.
  •  Late arrivals will be asked to wait until the academic procession is finished (approximately 15 minutes) before they are seated.
  •  Accessible guest seating is available on a first-come basis.  
  •  Guests are not permitted in the graduate seating area.
  •  Guests are to remain seated during the entire ceremony.
  •  No strollers, car seats, or baby carriers of any kind will be allowed in the seating area.
  •  Balloons are not permitted in the seating area.
  •  Air horns and noisemakers are not permitted at any time during the ceremony.
  •  Taking pictures and videotaping is allowed, but tripods and monopods are not permitted. Cameras must be battery operated and patrons must remain seated while taking photographs and videotaping.
  •  No one is allowed on the platform unless designated, especially after the ceremony.
